Porcelain Mess-Free Butter Dish

A butter dish pretty enough to leave out, with none of the usual mess. The lid never touches the butter, so it lifts off clean every time.

The details

This is Butterie's porcelain take on their award-winning butter dish. The trick is in the tall walls: they rise above the butter, so the lid rests on the walls instead of dragging through a soft stick. No greasy lid, no guessing where to set it down, no smears on the counter.

Each dish is hand-crafted porcelain finished in a reactive glaze, so the color pools and shifts a little differently on every piece. No two look exactly alike, which is the point. A wide handle makes the lid easy to lift, and a matching stainless steel spreader tucks into a cradle on the side of the dish.

It holds 8 ounces: two standard sticks, a block of European butter like Kerrygold, Plugrá, or Président, or a brick of cream cheese (keep it in the fridge for cream cheese). When it needs a wash, it goes straight in the dishwasher.

Choose your color

Five glazes: White, Green, Gray, Navy, and Sky Blue. Because the glaze is reactive and each piece is hand-finished, expect small variations from the photos.
