The details

The Flapple is an apple slicer and corer that fixes the two things wrong with the classic version: the half-finished cut and the exposed blades rattling around your drawer. Its auto-aligning base steadies the apple and lets you push the cut all the way through, so you get complete wedges without pressing the slicer against a board or prying pieces free.

The wide-diameter cutter divides apples of all sizes into 8 equal pieces while removing the core in the same motion. The blade is double-reinforced Japanese stainless steel — ultra-sharp and built to stay that way. When you're done, the handles fold down and lock over the blades, covering the sharp edges for safe, compact storage. Polypropylene and stainless steel construction, dishwasher safe.
