Cast iron seasoning is usually either messy, smelly, or full of mystery ingredients. Walrus Oil's is none of those things — it's a thick, beeswax-fortified conditioner that applies cleanly, seasons well, and builds a genuinely smooth, non-stick surface over time.

The details

Where Cast Iron Oil is built to penetrate and prevent rust, Cast Iron Seasoning goes further with the addition of beeswax. The wax fills in the surface texture to create a smoother, more protected feel and builds a more substantial barrier against rust and wear. Made with oleic safflower oil, beeswax, and vitamin E — all 100% natural, all food-contact safe, all NSF Certified.

The extra-thick consistency is a real advantage: it stays where you put it with no dripping or running, making application clean and controlled. Handles heat up to 390°F for oven seasoning — slightly lower than the pure oil due to the beeswax content, but well within the standard seasoning range.

Apply a thin coat to clean, dry cast iron. For basic rust protection, buff away excess and you're done. For heat seasoning, bake at 325–350°F for 30–60 minutes. Works equally well on new cast iron pots and pans and older pieces being restored.
