RSVP Endurance® Cast Iron Scrubber

Cornbread stuck to the skillet, a crust of seared steak, last night's fried potatoes. A few passes with this chainmail scrubber and some hot water, and the pan is clean while the seasoning you worked so hard for stays right where it is.

The details

Cast iron and carbon steel don't want the same treatment as the rest of your cookware. Steel wool scrapes away seasoning, and soft sponges barely touch the cooked-on bits. Chainmail lands right in the middle: the small linked rings roll over the surface, knocking loose baked-on residue without gouging the pan.

RSVP makes this one from 18/10 stainless steel paired with silicone, so it won't rust and holds up to years of skillet duty. At about 4.3 by 3 inches, it fits comfortably in your palm and is small enough to work into the corners of a skillet or the ridges of a grill pan.

No soap needed. Rinse the pan under hot water, scrub, dry it on the burner, and wipe on a thin coat of oil like always. When you're done, the scrubber itself can go right in the dishwasher.
