Hestan Provisions Stainless Steel Universal Lids

One lid that fits a whole shelf of pans — that is the idea, and it works. Designed by chef Thomas Keller for the Provisions collection, these flat stainless lids are made to cover a range of pan diameters, so you can stop digging through the cupboard for the one lid that matches. They also store flat, which means they actually fit in a drawer instead of toppling out of a stack.

The details

Each lid is crafted from commercial-grade 18/10 stainless steel, made in Italy, with a steam vent built cleverly into the Hestan logo. That vent eases pressure, helps prevent boil-overs, and stops the maddening rattle of a lid dancing on a simmering pot. The flat disk design rests securely across pans of several sizes and tucks away without clutter.

This listing is the Large (12.5") lid, which covers larger sauté pans, a 4-quart sauce pot, stock pots, and rondeaus. (The Provisions universal lids also come in Small, which fits 8.5" sauté pans, a 2.5 qt saucier, and sauce pots up to 3 quarts, and Medium.) Every size is oven and broiler safe to 600°F and dishwasher safe, and the collection is backed by a lifetime warranty.
