Hestan NanoBond 1.5-Quart Covered Saucepan

The little saucepan that earns its keep. A quart and a half is the right amount for a morning's oatmeal, a cup of rice, a single-batch hollandaise, or reheating last night's sauce without dirtying anything bigger. It is light enough to lift one-handed and pours cleanly thanks to that flared rim.

The details

The 1.5-quart shares the construction of every NanoBond piece: triple-bonded 18/10 stainless steel around a ProCore pure-aluminum core, which Hestan rates at roughly 35% more conductive than ordinary aluminum-clad cookware. The wider-than-usual base gives you more contact with the burner and more room to whisk, which matters for emulsions and anything you have to stir constantly.

The molecular titanium cooking surface is bonded directly to the steel and about four times harder than ordinary stainless. No coating, nothing non-toxic to worry about, nothing to peel. It takes metal utensils, steel wool, and the dishwasher in stride.

Sealed flared rims pour without dripping and protect the aluminum core, and flush rivets keep the interior easy to wipe clean.
