The details

Not every meal needs the full-size oven, and not every kitchen has room for full-size pans. Nordic Ware’s Compact Ovenware is sized for toaster ovens, countertop ovens, and air fryer ovens, so you can bake a small batch without heating up the whole kitchen. Each pan also works in a regular oven.

Like the rest of the Naturals line, every piece is made from pure uncoated aluminum, the same material commercial bakeries rely on. Aluminum heats quickly and evenly with no hot spots, so crusts brown on the bottom and casseroles bake through to the center. There’s no coating to scratch or wear off, so each pan is oven safe to 500°F and works under the broiler.

For easy release, use a little butter or oil, or line the pan with parchment. Over time the aluminum develops a natural patina, which is normal and doesn’t affect how it bakes. Acidic foods like tomato sauce can darken the surface if they sit in the pan for a long time; a scrub with lemon juice or cream of tartar brings the shine back. • Rectangular Baker: The workhorse of the three. It holds 1.5 quarts with 1.8-inch sides, deep enough for mac and cheese, enchiladas, brownies, or roasted vegetables for one or two.
• Mini Pie Pan: A 5-inch round for personal pies, pot pies, quiche, cobbler, and crustless egg bakes. It fits where a standard 9-inch pie pan won’t.
• 9" Hot Air Pizza Crisper: A round, perforated pan that lets hot air reach the bottom of the crust for a crisp finish. Made for personal pizzas, flatbreads, frozen appetizers, and reheated slices.
